A chat with Mark Basile of bioMETRX

Long Island Business News sat down with bioMETRX top dog Mark Basile for a brief 2 minute exchange. The company, best known for their fingerprint-friendly garage doors, has been approached by two cell phone manufacturers who want to impliment their biometric technology in their mobile devices.

“Imagine sitting on the beach in Aruba and getting a call from your mother-in-law that she is locked out of your house,” Basile explained. “Using a bio-phone, you can press a number on the keypad to let her in.”

Biometric spoofing - crime of the future?

Silicon.com has thrown up a fairly short but concise summary of the thread posed by biometric spoofing. Interestingly, they mention an added security feature involving the detection of a pulse in any finger being scanned. Looks like mafia-style de-limbing and jello moulding might not be the order of the day.

Precise Biometrics appoints Thomas Marshall as CEO

Precise Biometrics’ board of directors has named Thomas Marschall as President and CEO, effective November 1.

Thomas will start already on September 1, and work parallel with our current President and CEO Christer Bergman to secure a smooth transition.

Thomas, who is 39, has previously served as CEO for Synkron A/S an international software company where he increased the sales by more than 300% over a four-year period.
